"I've made peace with what I have gone through."
I had my second abortion 368 days after my first. First surgical, second medical. Two completely different situations.
My first one - I had just started college. I also had just broken up with my boyfriend a week before I found out. He tried to kill himself when I told him I was pregnant.
My second one - We were 17 years apart. He had 4 kids already. We were having sex just the way we always were. It's such a lame excuse but we used the pullout method. It worked for months.
We had sex one time in September. That was when it happened.
The day I told him, he told me he just found out he had cancer. I was losing mobility in my legs due to a genetic condition.
I wanted to keep it but I emotionally, physically, financially could not do it alone. I thought he would always be there. We had a 7 year friendship before hand. Guess I was wrong.
After my first one, I went into a headspace where I really wanted kids. And then the second one happened and I'm not sure what I want anymore.
I'm fortunate enough I live in Canada and had a mother who supported me. I have friends who are supportive.
Because I had my abortion, I was able to have my spinal surgery January 2019 and I'm happy to say I got my strength back in my legs and still have the strength till this day.
I've made my peace with what I've gone through. I wish I hadn't had to do it but I know it what was best for me and my life and essentially my children's lives.
I don't believe any child should be brought into a world where they will experience trauma and I knew not having my abortions would cause my children to experience a life I could not protect them from.
No child deserves to feel unwanted.
